Description
Implant steel with improved corrosion resistance compared to AISI 316L. Regarded as "Medical Grade", this Stainless Steel 316 is vacuum melted to achieve the extremely high levels of purity and "cleanliness" required for surgical implants. It has excellent resistance in physiological environments, to general and intergranular corrosion, to pitting and crevice corrosion.
Applications
Osteosyntheses, bone crews, bone paltes, marrow-nails. Because of the excellent surface finish, applications also include use in high precision electronics.
